Our Philosophy

We believe in the value of human diversity and the fair treatment of all people.

We believe that the dignity and worth of each child and family is important.

We believe that each child should be helped to have a positive self-image.

We believe that children deserve a nurturing, safe and happy environment which promotes their natural curiosity and desire to learn.

We believe each person is a unique individual and has his or her own needs. Each person has a right to meet these needs in their own way and in their own time. However, one of the responsibilities of having rights is recognizing and respecting the rights of others.

We believe that loving, trusting, and respecting each child makes that child capable of loving, trusting and respecting others.

We believe that children deserve to have teachers who are capable and caring and whose values enable them to be excellent role models.

We believe that the home is the most important factor in a child’s development. We will always strive to support and complement the family in order to promote the healthy development of children and parents.
  • Our Programs

Infant-Toddler Program:  Developing secure and trusting relationships is a primary task for infants. Teachers foster this trust through frequent physical contact, sensitive responses to infants’ signals (cries and smiles), and mutual delight in interactions. Infants are provided visual and tactile stimulation and opportunities for gross motor activity. Daily activities for toddlers include experiences such as simple art projects, dramatic play, and 'directed' free play that encourages manipulation, imitation and exploration. Social skills such as empathy, caring and sharing are also emphasized through interactions with warm, responsible and encouraging caregivers.

Preschool Program:  Our preschool program prepares children for kindergarten, and the world beyond. We balance structured activities that allow children to learn new skills with free play that fosters creativity and individual expression. The curriculum incorporates literacy and math learning through a rich variety of experiences such as dramatic play, blocks, art, music, puzzles and books. Early reading and writing skills are a primary focus, particularly in the four-year-old class. Early math and science activities are a regular part of the program. Building skills such as negotiation, cooperation and communication are encouraged and modeled by a sensitive, caring staff. A developmentally- appropriate curriculum is planned and posted regularly in each classroom.
